Kellie Marie Lavin

Ms. Lavin is a Chico State alum, whose research interests lie in American gender history and the arts. Her thesis explored the history of West Coast Swing, California’s state dance, with a focus on the racial and gender dynamics in this niche community. Prior to teaching at Chico State, she taught high school history and worked in academic advising at Stanford University and UCLA. In addition to her academic interests in the field of history, Ms. Lavin is passionate about helping students to explore career options and prepare for their goals.
