Marie Knox

Marie Knox is the Administrative Coordinator for the Philosophy Department at Chico State. She has over 20 years of administrative experience, an in-depth knowledge of reconciling complex budgets, and skills in collecting and evaluating data. After several years of employment in the justice system and private industry, Marie accepted a position in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts in 2000. Marie was promoted quickly and in 2005 joined the Philosophy Department to work closer with students and faculty. In 2018, Marie was nominated for Staff Employee of the Year.

Marie enjoys architecture and traveling to tour historical structures to see the materials and technology of the different designs firsthand. Some of her favorites include the Hearst Castle, the Sagrada Familia, and in her home town of Vina, a medieval chapter house that was rebuilt using the stones from the 12th century monastery, the Santa Maria de Ovila from Spain.
