Subject: Approval for Revisions to the History Subject Matter Preparation Program
Upon the recommendation of the Provost and the Faculty Senate and with the approval of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, I approve the revisions to the History subject matter preparation program. The revised program will be effective fall 1991.
In the revised program California history will be required. The number of units required in American history will be reduced from 9-12 to 6-9. The number of choices possible to meet the American history and the European history criteria has been reduced; language has been revised to conform to that used by Title 5. The number of units required in the program remains the same, 54.
