Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve minor changes to the BA in Social Science, effective fall 1995.

In the Health Science concentration, nine units will be added to the list of required units. The “units selected from” menu of courses will be reduced from 3-12 to 0-9 units.

In the Gerontology concentration, the number of required units will increase from 12 to 15 units. The “units selected from” menu of courses will be reduced from 3 – 12 to 0 – 9 units.

Two new concentrations will be added, Child Development and Conflict Resolution. The Child Development concentration will include 12 required units and three from a selection for the additional nine units. Students who elect the 24-unit concentration will select three units from three sets of choices. The Conflict Resolution concentration will include six required units and 3-6 units from three sets of selections.

The Health Services concentration will be renamed Health and Human Services concentration. The number of units required will be reduced from 9 to 6 units. The “units selected from” menu will be divided into two sets of choices.

The total number of units required for each concentration will remain the same, 15-24 units.
