Executive Memorandum 14-003 February 3, 2014

From: Paul J. Zingg, President

Subject: Approval of Name Change and Significant Change to the Option in Foodservice Administration within the BS in Nutrition and Food Sciences

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve a name change and significant change to the Option in Foodservice Administration within the BS in Nutrition and Food Sciences. The new name of the option will be Nutrition Management (the reporting code will remain the same). The significant program change updates the curriculum to qualify graduates to sit for two national exams. The change will increase the number of required courses from 7 to 9. The number of major elective courses chosen will reduce from 4 to 1, and a new elective selection will be added where the student will choose 1 course from NFSC 468 and NFSC 469. The number of units for the option will change from 31 to 30. This change will be effective Fall 2014.
