June 17, 2020 – Chancellor Approves CSU, Chico’s Fall 2020 Plan

To: Campus Community
From: President Gayle Hutchinson

I’m pleased to report that California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White informed me today that he has officially approved Chico State’s plan for the fall 2020 semester.

I wrote to you on May 29 with highlights of the plan, which was thoughtfully developed by numerous teams of Chico State faculty, staff, Associated Students presidents, and campus administrators. Our priorities were to provide students with the best possible educational experience while also ensuring the safety and welfare of the campus and local communities. The plan was approved with very few modifications.

The University’s plan for the fall is subject to further modification by the Chancellor’s Office and as facts change relative to the COVID-19 pandemic and its mitigations. As part of the planning effort, the University has built in flexibility and possible pivots, should adjustments become necessary. The approved plan will be posted to my official website soon and additional details will be forthcoming.
