Neissa Higuera, from Rocklin, CA, is currently in her fourth and final year at Chico State, pursuing a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She has aspirations of attending medical school in 2025 and is working towards the application process. This semester marks her second term as an SI leader, with a focus on Biochemistry. Her passion for biology extends beyond the classroom, as she actively participates in research alongside Dr. Keller, exploring the cellular and molecular functions of pancreatic beta cells in relation to type 2 diabetes. Neissa finds great fulfillment in her role as an SI leader and enjoys the opportunity to assist students in achieving their academic goals
