February 28, 2017: Amazon S3 outage

At 11:37 AM, Amazon Web Services (AWS) reported high error rates for Amazon S3, which is a popular cloud-based file storage service.

This outage does not affect Blackboard directly, but it may impact instructors and students who rely on cloud-based services, including but not limited to:

  • Cengage publisher content
  • Collaborate Ultra recordings
  • Crocodoc inline grading
  • Digication ePortfolios
  • McGraw-Hill publisher content
  • Pathbrite ePortfolios
  • Reef polling
  • Remote Proctor
  • Tegrity publisher content
  • Trello

Note that several tools above are not integrated with Blackboard.
