Hi, I’m Shayla! I am a 4th-year Microbiology & Cellular/Molecular Biology student here at Chico State. I also minor in Chemistry and Biochemistry! I was an SI Leader for CHEM 111 for two semesters before I became a mentor. Being an SI Leader was such a wonderful experience, and I am so excited to be a mentor now! It taught me so much about myself and has helped me grow as a person tremendously. This is my second year as a mentor; I am so excited to continue to support the amazing SI Leaders of Chico State. I am excited to keep learning more about myself in this role! I love all things science, and I hope to research food allergies and immunotherapy in my future after going to graduate school in Biochemistry. When I’m not in school, I am usually dancing, cooking, baking, or hanging out with my sweet kitty named Cleopatra and dog named Bean.
