Luke Reid

When he was cut from the 9th grade basketball team, Luke realized that he wasn't going to make the news. So he decided to write about it. After six years as a sportswriter for the Chico Enterprise-Record, Luke worked as the Chico State Athletics Sports Information Department from 2000 through 2022, first as a student assistant, then as the assistant SID, and finally as the communications coordinator for 14 years. Today, Luke specializes in sharing the stories of students, faculty, staff, and alumni through Chico Statements magazine, Chico State Today, email communications, and more. He is a winner of the College Sports Information Directors Association Fred S. Stabley Sr. Writing Contest National Award and Regional Award. A proud alum, Luke earned his bachelor's degree in history in 2004 and his master's degree in kinesiology in 2009.
