What are the laptop requirements for the major?
What is mandatory advising?
Mandatory advising ensures that students progress through the Applied Computer Graphics program in a concise manner, maintaining the Major goals and progressing through the Major in a timely and efficient manner. Mandatory advising takes place each academic year in the Spring Semester. Advising must be accomplished prior to the Fall registration deadline or a hold will be placed on the student's account and registration will be impossible until the mandatory advising requirement has been met.
How do I sign up for advising on-line?
You must have a Google account to utilize the on-line advising appointment tool. All current students have a CSU, Chico Wildcat Email through Google. From the home page, click on the Student Resources tab then click on Clarke Steinback's tab. Scroll down to the bottom of his page to see the link for APCG Advising; this is the link to connect to the Google calendar with all available advising appointment slots.
- You will be prompted to sign in to your Google account.
After signing in to your Google account, shaded open advising appointment slots labeled "Advising" will be shown. (Before you select an appointment slot, be sure to check that your time zone is set correctly in your Google Calendar as well as your computer. You may do so in Google, by clicking on Calendar, choose settings (in the righthand corner), choose settings from the drop-down menu, then check that 'Your current time zone' is correct. )
- Once you are signed in, you may need to advance to the next week to see open appointment slots. Choose a slot that best fits your schedule, click on it and follow the prompts. After doing so, a dialog box will come up that says 'Book an appointment,' besure to click on 'view/edit in Google Calendar' and set up a reminder so you do not forget to come to your appointment.
- The appointment with your name will be added to Professor Steinback's calendar. If you wish to cancel your appointment, please do so in your calendar and choose the option to notify participants so that the appointment can be removed from Professor Steinback's calendar.
- If you are a prospective student and do not have a Google account, you may still email Clarke Steinback to request a list of currently open advising appointment slots.

How do I change/add/drop a Major/Minor/Certificate?
Visit this link, Plan Change, sign in to your portal account and choose the correct options. For example, to add the Video Game Design Minor, click the Minor bubble then click add and scroll through the list of Academic Plans to the bottom and choose Video Game Design Minor. You will then be prompted to save the PDF and print. The form will then need to be signed by the advisor of the Major/Minor/Certificate you are adding.
