Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering is the second most popular engineering major in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management. Currently, over 300 students at CSU, Chico call the Civil Engineering Department their home.

If you are already a student on campus, please always feel free to come by the Department of Civil Engineering (Langdon Hall 207) with any questions or if there is any way that we can help.  If you are a prospective student who is evaluating the option of coming to Chico State, or if you are a Chico State CE alumnus or alumna who is interested in getting reconnected, please give us a call (530-898-5342); we would love to talk with you.

The Civil Engineering program delivers a comprehensive hands-on and student-centered program that prepares graduates for immediate entry into a variety of professional careers and provides a solid undergraduate foundation enabling continued education at the graduate level.

Beginning Fall 2011, students who declare a major or minor in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management (ECC) are required to purchase a laptop for use in major coursework. Students who declare prior to Fall 2011 are exempt from this requirement, but are encouraged to participate as well. Additional information on laptop usage is available in the ECC website.
