Research and Professional Interests

Current projects cover: (1) Economic Impact of ban on fall application of nitrogen in Illinois, (2) Development of grocery and agribusiness Web-based business simulations for teaching, (3) Development of cooperative business training for high school age and above.  Widely published on topics related to agribusiness management and the economic feasibility of new businesses in agriculture and food enterprises.

Service to the College, University, and Community

2015 – Faculty Honorary Member Award from Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority

2015 – Received Service Award from Academic Planning Committee of the APLU

2014 – Received Cooperative Educator Award from the Illinois Cooperative Council

2013 – Received the Lifetime Service Award from NARRU

2011 – Elected President of the American Association of State Colleges of Agriculture and Renewable Resources (AASCARR) [Now NARRU]

2008 – Appointed to USDA – CSREES Employment Opportunities Working Group Panel of Experts

2009 – Awarded membership in ISU’s Million Dollar Club

2006 – Elected to Board of Directors of American Association of State Colleges of Agriculture and Renewable Resources

2006 – Appointed to the Advisory Council of the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, Chicago, Illinois

2003-2005 – Commission Member for National Food and Agribusiness Management Education Commission (NFAMEC) created by USDA to provide input to the future of food and agribusiness management education in the United State
