30th Annual Student Research Competition Top Presenters

Congratulations to the top presenters of the CSU, Chico Student Research Competition held March 2, 2016!

On that evening, 40 students presented their research projects to a panel of faculty jurors, student peers, faculty mentors, friends, and family in five separate sessions based on discipline and paper topics. As usual, the judges, other presenters, and audience members were impressed and inspired by the quality and rigor of the students' work.

Student presenters competed for two different honors. The first was for an Excellence in Research Award that went to the top three finalists in each session and included a cash award. The second was for a spot as one of the ten delegates to move on and compete at the 30th CSU Annual Statewide Student Research Competition in Bakersfield on April 29 and 30, 2016, against hundreds of other California State University students.

Selecting the top finalists this year in both categories was a particularly challenging task for our judges. The range, depth, innovation, and importance of the students’ research was exceptional, and their presentations were polished and compelling. In short, these presenters displayed excellent work.

Thanks to all of the students who participated and the faculty mentors who supported them. Again, our congratulations to these finalists:
