Connect to your required student management systems. You will use these systems daily to accomplish crucial tasks including:
- Accessing your Wildcat Email Account
- Making Fee Payments
- Determining Graduation Requirements
- Communicating with Professors
- Viewing your course schedule
- Accessing Assignments and Course Requirements
- ...and so much more!
Step 1: Activate Your Student Portal
The Student Portal is a centralized University website for your personal account information, University email, and learning management.
Activate Your Portal Here
- Under “Activate your account” click on “claim their account”. You will then enter the following information:
- Chico State ID#
- Date of Birth (note, we use date format of Month, Day, Year)
- Follow the rest of the steps to complete account registration.
Step 2: Access Your Student Center & Enroll in DUO
Located within your Portal is your Student Center. This is where you will locate your course schedule, pay fees, review your graduation requirements, and more.
- Go to the main Chico State webpage
- At the top of the page select “Portal”
- Click "Sign in" on the top right corner
- When prompted, enroll in DUO Multifactor Identification System
- Select “Student Center”
Step 3: Explore Canvas
Located within your Portal is a link to Canvas - this is where you will find your course information for the coming semester, including your syllabus, assignments, required books and supplies, and contact information for your professor.
- Go to your Student Center (see instructions above)
- Click "Canvas"
- Click into each individual course link
