Events and Activities

Wildcat Weekend offers a variety of family friendly events. While the majority of activities are free, there are a few events that require tickets:

Wildcat Family Barbecue(opens in new window) | Saturday, October 11 (tickets on sale now!)

(Chico State students also need tickets for the above events.)

Food and Beverages

You won't want to miss the Wildcat Weekend Barbecue on Saturday, October 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.! Associated Students Dining will be serving up mouthwatering selections including smoked brisket, grilled chicken, and farm-fresh ingredients from the University Farm. Whether you choose a hearty plate, a made-to-order sandwich, or a fresh salad, you'll be treated to a taste of Chico State’s finest! Tickets are just $25 (includes $2 service fee).

Additional food options will be also available on campus, including dining at Éstom Jámani Hall (no pre-paid ticket required). You're also welcome to bring your own food(opens in new window) and enjoy a picnic on the Kendall Hall Lawn!

Bring your own water bottle to refill at our hydration stations. For those 21 and over, cool off with a drink from the Kendall Lawn Beer Garden ($).

Chico Weather

Average daily temps in Chico during October are in the mid-80's, but it can reach up into the 90's. We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket, as some of the air-conditioned buildings can get chilly. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes to enjoy the full weekend of activities.

Directions and Parking

Get directions to Chico. Permits are required for on-campus parking Monday through Friday but weekends are free. For campus parking locations please refer to the Campus Parking Map. Downtown Chico offers smart parking meters, kiosk parking, and free parking. For more information about parking downtown, visit the DCBA website.
