July 6 - JOURNEY To SPAIN
See Cave Art and Las Fallas Festival – Meet Alex who lives in Spain. She’ll take us on a tour of caves and Valencia’s famous fest.

July 7 - HIKING From your ROOM
Learn about the biodiversity of upper park and why one drop of water is so important.

July 8 - DIG IT
Ever wonder what archaeologists do all day? We can dig into that, for sure! We can practice digging chocolate chips out of cookies. Now that’s an excavation.

July 9 - FREE ALL PLAY DAY COMICBOOK CAPER - SWAMP KID
Meet DC comic author of SWAMP KID, Kirk Scroggs. Swamp kid has algae hair and a frog in his armpit. Kirk will tell us why he cares about the planet and give us some drawing tips that anyone can follow!

July 13 - The Land Down Under
Meet Jamie Webster who lives in Adelaide, Australia. She will take us on walking tour of the Australian animals at Cleland Park in Adelaide.

July 14 - Calling All Sleuths!
Cracking codes and escape rooms are our specialty. We have some great ones for you to try at home and stump your parents with.

July 15 - Dirt is for Making Things
Meet a local potter who is also a former anthro camper. He will teach you some pottery techniques.

July 16 - Looking Up - Stars & Star Wars
Meet a local potter who is also a former anthro camper. He will teach you some pottery techniques.

About Summer Camp

Virtual Summer Camp at the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology encourages creative activities to learn about other people, places and time periods throughout the world. Daily adventures with local and international guests, stories, experiments, and art to do at home. For Children Ages 5-11.

July 6 through July 16, 2020. See individual event items for details.
Events occur on Zoom, 10am -11am.

Cost

$10 per camp day. Week-long sessions including day camps (July 6-9 & 13-16) are $35. Siblings are free! ($10 per household).

Adrienne Scott, camp director, can be reached by email if you have urgent questions or concerns. Generally speaking, she will reply in less than 24 hours unless it is the weekend, in which case she will respond before end of day on Monday.
