Professor and chairman of the Department of Recreation and Parks Administration. Wrote and achieved the department's accreditation.

Averaged more than $1 million a year in grants and contracts which were used to further the learning experience of his students.

Developed more than 100 master plans for parks and recreation facilities of Northern California agencies. Work with his students included overseeing the design and construction of Merlo Park in Stirling City which was featured in Sunset magazine.

He was lead planner for the California Tahoe Conservancy (1988-1999) where he and his students researched and planned recreation areas on the California side of Lake Tahoe.

Completed the City of Chico's first master management plan (1989-1990) for Bidwell Park.

Was Director and president, Chico Area Recreation and Park District board.

He received California Parks and Recreation professional fellowship award and was inducted in the organization's hall of fame (2012).

Developed the Northern California County and California District Fairgrounds master plans.

Headed the California Parks and Recreation Scholarship Foundation for 20 years.

Between 1982 and 2003 he operated and managed all recreation resources for the U.S. Forest Service for Lassen National Forest at Lake Almanor, Eagle Lake, and Hat Creek districts and developed the Eagle Lake Recreation Area marina and campgrounds master plans and improvements.
