Subject: Approval for Institute for Research in Intelligent Systems (IRIS)

INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH IN INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve the establishment of the Institute for Research in Intelligent Systems (IRIS), effective spring 2006.

The Institute for Research in Intelligent Systems will be housed within the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management. The Institute's purpose is to oversee the Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISL). Additional information is available at the Institute's web site.
