September 11, 2017 – EO 1000 Facilities Use Changes
To: Campus Community
From: President Gayle E. Hutchinson
At Fall Convocation, I announced changes to the implementation of Executive Order 1000 to address concerns regarding its impact on our campus and community. To ensure implementation is more in sync with our University mission to create a more vibrant and active campus, I am pleased to formally announce the following changes, effective immediately:
- A broadened definition of what constitutes a “university user” to include those hosting events that support the university mission. Approved University users are: divisions, academic colleges, and departments; University-recognized student organizations, and IRA-funded student programs.
- An expansion of campus normal hours to include Friday evenings from 5 pm-10 pm, Saturdays from 8 am-5 pm, and Sunday starting at 12 pm (see hours below).
Day | Normal Hours* |
---|---|
Monday – Thursday | 7 am – 10 pm |
Friday | 7 am – 10 pm |
Saturday | 8 am – 5 pm |
Sunday | 12 pm – 10 pm |
*Library hours may vary |
- Approved university users will not be charged a facility fee during normal hours. Charges may occur for additional equipment, services, or labor.
For additional details regarding these changes, please consult the Facilities Use and Charge Process.
Chico State continues its commitment to sustainable policies and practices that reduce the campus ecological footprint. To that end, Facilities Reservations will work to consolidate facility use to maximize sustainability of resources. Looking forward, in the fall of 2018, the fiscal and programmatic impact of these changes will be reviewed in relation to personnel costs and energy consumption.
