Regenerative Lead, Tablas Creek Vineyard, Paso Robles, CA

Tablas Creek Vineyard in the Adelaide District of Paso Robles, CA is looking for someone to run the sheep program on the ranch. Tablas Creek Vineyard is certified organic and Biodynamic. We also recently became the first vineyard in the world to become Regenerative Organic Certified, a global certification that was founded by the Rodale Institute, Patagonia, and Dr. Bronners.

Our sheep flock is a crucial part of our fertility program here on the ranch. The herd will range from 150-250 sheep depending on the time of year. Animals are sold to local restaurants throughout the county. We also have a donkey, alpacas, chickens, pigs, and two Spanish Mastiffs on the property for herd protection.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about animals, organic, biodynamic, and regenerative agriculture, that would be willing to step in and head up our animal program here at Tablas Creek. Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, managing our crew who help with the animals day-to-day tasks, closely monitoring and improving upon the rotational grazing program currently in place, coordinating animal harvests and culling of the herd, building and maintaining relationships with local restaurants for meat sales, working closely with the viticulturist and winemaker regarding movement of the animals when they are in the vineyard, as well as assisting the cellar crew during the grape harvest when needed.

The ability to communicate clearly in Spanish is desirable but not a necessity.
