Add Modules / Pages / Video
- Add modules to organize and steer students through your content.
- Add Pages within your modules and use the Rich Content Editor to design your page.

Communicate with Students
- Announcements(opens in new window) - communicate critical updates to your students.
- Inbox(opens in new window) -view, manage, & send direct messages to individuals or groups of people.
- Discussion Board-(opens in new window) enable students to have an in-depth conversation around a topic.
- Pronto - Consider using Pronto in your Canvas course for real-time chat.
- Add a Zoom Meeting to Canvas(opens in new window) for virtual classroom or student hours.
Assess Student Learning
- Use the Assignments tool to create assignments(opens in new window) and specify how students will submit .
- Use Quizzes(opens in new window) to as a formative assessment tool. Refer also to TLP guide to "classic" quizzes (Google Doc)
- Use the Discussion Board(opens in new window) to have an in-depth conversation around a topic
- Create Groups and have students submit a group assignment or discussion.
Provide Feedback and Enter Grades
- Use Speed Grader(opens in new window) to grade and comment on student submissions.
- Weight the final course grade based on assignment groups.
