Chico Affordable Learning Solutions (CAL$)

Cost Savings Reports

Each semester CAL$ asks faculty to report on their efforts to save students money, including cost savings from:

  • New zero- and low-cost course materials adoptions
  • Repeated zero- and low-cost adoptions

The CAL$ Coordinator reports this data to the Chancellor’s Office to demonstrate our faculty’s commitment and efforts to save students money. Please email the CAL$ Coordinator to be included on these semester reports.

These savings also aim to meet the 2022 Multi-Year CSU Compact (PDF) where Governor Newsom tasked the CSU to save students $150 Million by cutting course materials costs by 2025. Chico’s portion of that goal is approximately $5 million.
