All projects in Capstone Design are accomplished by student teams. Each project team is assigned a Faculty Advisor for the duration of the project. Groups meet weekly to bi‑weekly (every other week) with their Faculty Advisors, who are an important resource for the students. Advisors have a specific, defined role in the project. Their responsibilities include:
- Advisor on technical issues
- Approval for course milestones
- Supervision of schedule
- Council on team management issues
- Significant input into course grades
However, it should be noted that Faculty Advisors are not responsible for the overall success of the project.
