Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems

Anusha Bathula

Graduate Student

I graduated from Suresh Gyan Vihar University Jaipur in Rajasthan where I pursued a degree specializing in crop sciences. I developed a passion for agriculture and its crucial role in society thanks to my upbringing in a family of farmers. Through my studies I gained insights into the challenges that impact food security and agricultural sustainability.

Now taking the step towards expanding my knowledge and making a difference, I am pursuing a master’s degree in regenerative agriculture from California State University, Chico. What attracts me the most are research opportunities centered around regenerative farming practices. My goal is to develop climate techniques that will increase crop yields while restoring soils and ecosystems.

I have a genuine interest in learning as much as possible about a career in agriculture and would view any task put before me as a positive learning experience. My main purpose is to be able to apply economics principles to various issues arising in agriculture and to help agriculturists in the efficient use of resources. I think I can find a way to cumulate my research and my experience that could be helpful in the dynamics of agriculture in the future. Therefore, this passion sparked my interest in pursuing a masters in agricultural sciences. I am particularly intrigued by agriculture systems that prioritize both production sustainability and ecosystem restoration. My career path involves working at a California State University, Chico to collaborate with experts from fields to develop evidence-based farming practices. My current research is related to the Soil Carbon Accrual Project.
