Admissions

We are currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 academic school year, and we invite you to submit an application. Read the qualifications to apply to Honors in GE below. You should have already applied to CSU Chico.

 

If you are entering Chico State as a first semester freshman, you should have at least one of the following to apply for the Honors Program:


• High School GPA of 3.5 or above OR

• SAT score of 1200 or above (math + verbal score combined) OR

• ACT score of 27 or above

 

Students not meeting these criteria will be considered, but on an individual basis. We encourage you to apply if:

 

• you have participated in honors programs in high school

• you are a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation

• you are a National Merit finalist

 

To apply to the Honors in General Education Program as a first-semester freshman please download and print the PROGRAM APPLICATION. If you want to apply online, do so here. You may also request an application by calling 530-898-5749.

 

Mail the completed application and your narrative statement to:

If you would like to be considered for a place in Honors House, indicate your interest on the Honors Program application.

Transfer, Re-Entry, and Currently Enrolled Students

 

If you are a transfer or re-entry student, you will need a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA in your transferable course work to join the program. If you are already enrolled in the university, you may still apply for entrance into the Honors Program. You must have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA.
