CURE-E Course: Physics for Students of Science and Engineering: Mechanics (PHYS 204A), first introduced with CURE-E Fall 2022

Project Title: Different Surfaces, Different Bounces?

As this is the first physics course that most students will take at CSU Chico, there is a small limitation on the complexity of the project. The planned project is to test how the bounce of a basketball varies depending on the surface it is bounced on. To achieve this students will work in groups to design an experiment, carry that experiment outand then iterate until their experiment can give them useful information. Students will present the results of their research to the class.
