Call for GE Courses Consultation: Feedback from Academic Advising

"Once a year, in consultation with Academic Advising, the Enrollment Management Advisory Committee, and college deans, CAB may recommend a call for new GE course proposals in one or more areas based on programmatic needs and historical and projected student demand data. The data and rationale will be publicly available at www.csuchico.edu/ge. If there is no need for additional courses in any Subject Area, Subarea, upper-division Pathway, or GE Minor there will be no call for new courses to GE" (EM 19-021)

2022-23

    • No.

  2. What LD GE subject subareas have extraordinarily high unmet demand?

    • None currently, though there is ongoing concern that students avoiding particular areas of general education could result in future bottlenecks in GE Areas A and B.

  3. What UD GE subject areas have extraordinarily high unmet demand, by Pathway?

    • Areas B, C, and D in Health and Wellness. However, this demand should be addressed in Fall 22 with the revised GE Program.

  4. What GE Minors have extraordinarily high unmet demand, by LD or UD area?

    • Not applicable

  5. What UD Pathways have extraordinarily high unmet demand for additional graduation requirements (W, USD, GC)?

    • W, USD, and GC in Health and Wellness. However, this demand should be addressed in Fall 22 with the revised GE Program.
