Rhamnus californica, or Mountain Coffeeberry, is an evergreen shrub that can be found throughout California anywhere that has decent drainage. When growing in full sun or partial shade, this plant can grow 2m to 3m in both height and width. The small, yellow flowers grow in clusters are open from winter to spring where bees can be commonly seen visiting. The deep purple berries are popular with birds. .
