Student Resources for Transitioning to Online, Alternative-Format Instruction

With the unprecedented suspension of in-person classes and limiting campus to essential functions only through the end of the semester due to COVID-19, ensuring the continuity of education and important services at Chico State will be achieved through online and non-traditional means. The University wants to remind students about the tools and resources available, including loaner laptops, to ensure a smooth transition.

Technology Support
- IT Support Services(opens in new window) will provide comprehensive technology support, including laptop loans and virtual technology assistance.
- Please note that loaner laptops will be available for pick-up from Monday, March 23-Friday, March 27 only. Students must submit a laptop request(opens in new window) prior to pick-up. Laptops will be prepared the morning after the request is submitted and can be picked up between 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at IT Support Services in MLIB 142.
- The Office of Accessible Technology Services(opens in new window) will offer all students online access to a staff member during normal business hours Monday–Friday via email at oats@csuchico.edu(opens in new window). Students with questions on inclusive technology or who need assistance setting up technology accommodations are encouraged to reach out.

Student Support
Open for Limited In-Person Services

- Students should call ahead at 530-898-5241.
- Hungry Wildcat Food Pantry(opens in new window), Mon.–Fri., 11 a.m.–2 p.m. (or by appointment)
- The pantry will prepare to-go bags with food or with hygiene products for the students to pick up at the entrance of the pantry. Students will be allowed to take more than one bag as long as food inventory can accommodate and can email regarding more specific dietary needs.

Other Services
- Though the Meriam Library building is closed (all due dates extended; fees waived), the library will continue to provide online research resources(opens in new window) and virtual research support(opens in new window), including 24/7 chat support and the ability to schedule Zoom appointments with librarians.
- The Student Learning Center(opens in new window) will provide all learning support services online beginning March 30. Students will be able to use their website to set up an appointment.
- Online counseling is available through the WellCat Counseling Center(opens in new window) and Safe Place(opens in new window).
- All Student Affairs(opens in new window) services, including academic advising, will be available in alternative delivery methods. The Financial Aid & Scholarship Office(opens in new window) is providing financial aid assistance virtually.
