Ashkaan Daneshi

Ashkaan Daneshi, who graduated with a BA in Economics and a BS in Project Management in 2016, is the deputy field director of Ro Khanna for Congress in the Sunnyvale Region. He received the Economics’ Department’s Outstanding Economic Student Award at graduation and during his senior year he received the Lieutenant Robert Merton Rawlins Merit Award based upon his academic scholarship and his outstanding contributions to the University. 

As a student at Chico State Ashkaan received the President’s Outstanding Student Service Award for his numerous contributions to volunteer efforts and the local, state, and national level. He was president of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity at Chico State. Ashkaan was project manager of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity at the University of Washington in 2014. 

After his freshman year at Chico State Ashkaan spent the summer abroad at Chiang Mai University in Thailand. He attended the University of Washington on a National Student Exchange in his sophomore year.

Ashkaan also found time to work to help support himself as a franchise owner of College Pro Painters in Edmonds Washington in 2014. He was survey assistant for the Sacramento River Recreational Users and business development manager for Sensoplex in Redwood City, California, in 2015. 

As a result of his achievements as an undergraduate President Obama invited Ashkaan to the White House to celebrate Nowruz, the Iranian festival of spring for the beginning of their new year.
