Gypsy Tucker

Gypsy Tucker, who graduated in 1994 with a BA in Economics, is director of business operations at Schnitzer Steel in Portland, Oregon. Gypsy studied English and comparative literature at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, before enrolling at Chico State in 1991.

After graduation Gypsy accepted a position as internal auditor for Portland General Electric (PGE) in Portland, Oregon. After 8 years with PGE Gypsy took a job as senior internal auditor with Standard Insurance in Portland, Oregon. Three years later she moved on to Schnitzer Steel where she is currently working. In 2012 Schnitzer promoted Gypsy from internal audit manager to senior manager in charge of international compliance. In this role, Gypsy was in charge of the day-to-day management of the corporate anticorruption program, reporting to chief compliance officer, as well as building and implementing an import compliance program.

In 2018, she was promoted to Director of Business Operations, where she uses her skills in regulatory compliance, fraud prevention and process design to implement business operations compliance and internal control programs.
