"Seeing Yourself in the Curriculum"

Join MCGS, Students for Quality Education, and California Faculty Association to discuss the benefits of Ethnic Studies Programs and how the ability to "see yourself in the curriculum" contributes to the learning experience for students of all backgrounds. Dr. Sara Cooper will be leading the panel discussion

All They Will Call You, by Tim Z. Hernandez, is the harrowing account of “the worst airplane disaster in California’s history,” which claimed the lives of thirty-two passengers, including twenty-eight Mexican citizens—farmworkers who were being deported by the U.S. government. For the first time in history, on March 13, 2019, Chico State's Book in Common lecture will be available via streaming video to all of the County Libraries in Chico State's 12-county service area.

Agents of Change

When: Thursday, March 14 at 5:00 PM

Where: ARTS 112

This event consists of the Agents of Change documentary screening and discussion in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 115-day student strike that resulted in the creation of Ethnic Studies Programs in higher education. It is free and open to the public. There will also be refreshments provided for all participants!
