Project Rebound

Members of the Project Rebound team.

Chico State Project Rebound is a student success program that supports current and future Chico State students who have been incarcerated in a prison, jail, immigration detention center, or juvenile detention center. We provide multiple supports for our students such as mentoring, advising, social support, academic support, and basic needs support.

Chico State Project Rebound launched in August 2023 and will slowly roll out over the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years.

Our Project Rebound, like all Project Rebound programs, focuses on 5 key service objectives:

  1. Fostering a college-going culture among and building recruitment pathways for currently and formerly incarcerated people.
  2. Helping prospective students prepare for, apply to, and enroll in college.
  3. Supporting enrolled students to persist, graduate, and pursue career options.
  4. Supporting enrolled students to participate in student life and leadership, community service, and civic engagement.
  5. Establishing and fostering empowering networks among Project Rebound alumni and students.

Please see the Eligibility page to see if you qualify for our program and to access our Interest Form.
