I applied to graduate school because my goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist. I was inspired to become a Clinical Psychologist through my position as a Mental Health Technician. Through this position, I worked with people with different mental illnesses and disorders and was able to firsthand observe and actively participate in creating their treatment plan. But I wanted to be more involved in the creation of these treatment plans thus spurring my interest for graduate school.
I wanted to work for Adelante because I know the importance of graduate school and would like to encourage others to attend. Often, people are discouraged to attend due to educational or financial barriers and I want to encourage people and show them that it’s possible in spite of the barriers.
