When to Use an Off-Campus Provider
- During an emergency – Call 911 from any phone for urgent assistance
- When the University is closed and virtual care is not sufficient
- While traveling outside of Chico and virtual care is not sufficient
- When a specialist is required to treat a medical condition.
- For ongoing physical or mental health conditions requiring frequent visits.
Search for an Off-Campus Provider
Before you make an appointment with an off-campus medical specialist, make sure you use a provider that is accepted by your insurance. Health care providers in the U.S. belong to "networks" - your network is United Healthcare.
Use your AHP WellAway Health Insurance Portal, to search by "physician/facility." There is also a "Mental/Behavioral Health Search" option. Remember to enter your current location. Example (Chico, CA).
