School of Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The School of Nursing is an integral part of the College of Natural Sciences and is in accord with the University's primary goal to provide a quality education. The School of Nursing Program at Chico State increases student’s employability by providing 5 semesters of hands-on clinical experience required for a career in Nursing. After completion of the first semester in the Program, students enrolled in the Nursing Program are eligible to apply as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This provides work experience in the field prior to Program completion and graduation. Once graduated from the Chico State Nursing Program, the student may be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination. Passing this examination deems you eligible to work as a Registered Nurse in California.
