Mahalley Allen, JD, PhD

Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Success

Dr. Mahalley Allen is currently the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Success at Chico State. Previously, she was the chair of the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice from 2015-2022 and the coordinator of the Legal Studies program from 2006-2022.

Dr. Allen received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kansas and her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Her teaching and research interests include constitutional law, judicial politics, and public policy. Dr. Allen was a visiting professor at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in summer 2010 and at the Universidad del País Vasco in San Sebastián, Spain, in summer 2018.

At Chico State, Dr. Allen served for many years on the Academic Senate, including as vice chair of the Senate and chair of the Educational Policies and Programs Committee (EPPC), a Senate standing committee. She is an immediate past president of the Pacific Coast Association of Pre-Law Advisors (PCAPLA). Locally, Dr. Allen is on the board of directors for Innovative Preschool, Inc.
