Checks (payroll and other reimbursement checks) may be picked up in the Cashiering Office, Student Services Center Room 230 during regular business hours. You must present a photo ID (Chico State ID, driver's license, passport) to pick up a check - no exceptions.
- Student Payday
Student payroll warrants (checks) are available for pickup on or after the 15th of the month. If the 15th falls on a Saturday, they will be available on Friday; if it falls on a Sunday, they will be available on Monday.
During the semester -
Students may pick up their checks at the Cashiering Office, Student Services Center Room 230 during normal business hours.
During the winter and summer break -
If you are not on campus for the January or June payday, you may have your check mailed to you. You must supply the Cashiering Office a self-address and stamped envelope. On the inside flap, write the last three digits of your social security number. Make sure the writing is legible, we will not guess what you are trying to convey nor are we responsible for lost or returned items due to illegible writing.
- Faculty/Staff Payday
Effective with payroll checks issued after August 31, 2021, Student Financial Services (Cashiering) will be implementing changes to the state-side payroll distribution process. To return to compliance with the State Administrative Manual, we will no longer mail state-side payroll checks to employees.
Individual employees will be required to pick up their own paper check in person with a photo ID. We will no longer be supporting distribution to department representatives.
Pick-up of checks begins at 3:00 pm on any given payday in SSC 230. Pay checks not picked up on payday will be held in Student Financial Services (Cashiering) for pick up during our normal business hours.
We strongly encourage employees to sign up for direct deposit as soon as possible. Information on how to opt into direct deposit can be found by visiting https://www.csuchico.edu/hr/payroll/pdd.shtml(opens in new window).
In addition, the State Controller’s Office (SCO) no longer prints/mails paystubs. Employees enrolled in direct deposit may view their pay stubs in Cal Employee Connect (CEC). Information on how to access CEC and create an account can be found by visiting https://www.csuchico.edu/hr/payroll/cal-connect.shtml.
