"Good advising may be
the single most underestimated characteristic of a successful college experience."
– R.J. Light

The Chico State 360 initiative has added greater flexibility to the way Chico State faculty, staff, students and alumni communicate and interact with one another on a daily basis. CS360 is a valuable tool in providing high quality advising that is critical in student retention and success. This shared note system will allow advisors to get a more complete picture of students and provide them with a more holistic advising experience.
Faculty Advisors will receive invitations from Academic Advising Programs in Spring 2020 for online training for CS360. If you do not receive an invitation and wish to receive training, please contact your College Advising and Retention Specialist listed above or Cameron W. Kelly, the University Advisement Training Coordinator.
CSU, Chico utilizes a dual advising system to help students graduate on time.
Academic Advising Programs, located in the Student Service Center (SSC) 220, is known as the “Home of Undeclared”. Academic Advisors provide developmental advising to all undecided students, students in transition, and even to students who have a declared major.
“Developmental academic advising recognizes the importance of interactions between the student and the campus environment, it focuses on the whole person, and it works with the student at that person's own life stage of development.”
-Margaret King, “Developmental Academic Advising”
