Congratulations on your admissions to Chico State! Orientation is an important start of your Wildcat journey. Chico State’s Orientation program is designed to welcome and support you in your transition to the Wildcat community. We will be with you every step of the way to answer your questions on your journey to be a Wildcat!
New incoming students must attend Orientation before meeting with an academic advisor. It is expected that all students, first-year and transfer students, will participate in Orientation at Chico State University. Academic Advising is mandatory at Chico State and Orientation provides the first opportunity for academic advising and course registration.
Summer Orientation session dates will occur in June and July. Sessions will be offered in-person and virtually and students will be available to register on this website in March. Students attend based on their academic major and must accept their offer of admission before registering.
- At Orientation, students will:
- Receive personalized academic advising
- Enroll in fall 2026 courses
- Discover Chico State resources designed to support a smooth transition to campus life
- Meet and cannect with new and current students, as well as faculty and staff
- Learn and understand important campus policies, expectations, and State mandated trainings
- Gain tips and information to be fully prepared for the first day of classes
- Parents and supporters are welcome to attend Orientation. Please register for a session with your student.
