New Student Orientation & Transition Programs

Welcome to Chico State!

Welcome Wildcat! Chico State’s Orientation program is designed to welcome and support you in your transition to the Wildcat community. At Orientation you will enroll in classes, engage in campus resources, learn important campus policies, meet staff and faculty, and much more! We will be with you every step of the way. You’ll Get ready to launch the next steps in your journey at Orientation!

New students must attend Orientation before meeting with an academic advisor. It is expected that all students, first-year and transfer students, will participate in Orientation at Chico State University. Academic Advising is mandatory at Chico State and Orientation provides the first opportunity for academic advising and course registration.

*Students are required to declare their Intent to Enroll(opens in new window), then wait 24 hours to be updated in the system, before being allowed to register for an Orientation session.

Family Orientations run concurrently to student sessions. We also offer Spanish-Speaking Family Orientations (opens in new window)on select dates, June 24th is the primary date. Contact our office 530-898-5714(opens in new window)
