Terry Richardson began the SOSC MA Program in 2017. He is currently employed at CSU, Chico as VA Internship and TA SOSC 660. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Terry stated,
"I cannot alter the past, but the future is very much in my hands."
Kristina Brown began the SOSC MA Program in Fall 2005 and graduated in Spring 2007. She is currently employed at CSU, Chico as an Academic Advisor for the College of Business. She also teaches a professional and career development course for accounting option students. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Kristina stated,
"The SOSC MA Program prepared me well for my future career as an academic advisor. The program was easy to manage while working and I really liked the flexibility of the classes that were offered."
Jennifer L. Aceves began the SOSC MA Program in 2014 with a planned graduation date of Spring 2018. She is currently employed at CSU, Chico as Office of the Registrar for Academic Publications and Scheduling Services as well as Coordinator of Academic Scheduling and Academic Planning Database Reporting. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Jennifer stated,
"This program is perfect for returning (ahem…older) students who want to make their degree their own! Life goes on!"
Cameron Kelly began the SOSC MA Program in Spring 2017 with a planned graduation date of Spring 2019. He is currently employed at CSU, Chico in the Residence Life Coordinator, University Housing, California State University, Chico. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Cameron stated,
"I love the flexibility of the Social Science program. I am able to construct a program that best fits my academic and career goals."
Kathy Vargas began the SOSC MA Program in 2013. She is currently employed at CSU, Chico as the Office Coordinator at the Student Health Center. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Kathy stated,
"I appreciate the range of learning that interdisciplinary studies allows. I feel lucky."
Joel Ramirez began the SOSC MA Program in Spring 2016. He is currently employed at CSU, Chico as Coordinator for Student Organizations and Leadership Education. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Joel stated,
"Trust the program (Prof. Zartman, Prof. Walker, and Prof. Jones) and work hard. The interdisciplinary aspect of the program means that you will get what you put into it. You have the ability to make this program what you want it to be."
MaiHoua Lo began the SOSC MA Program in Fall 2011 and graduated in Spring 2014. She is currently employed at CSU, Chico as Scholarship Coordinator for Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, MaiHoua stated,
"This program allowed for me to tailor my studies according to my interest and passion."
Nicole Davis began the SOSC MA Program in Fall 2017. She is currently employed at CSU, Chico as the Field Placement Coordinator for the School of Social Work. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Nicole stated,
"The Social Science Master's program has given me the opportunity to further my career goals while continuing to work at the university and apply what I am learning in the classroom to my current job. Being able to choose from a wide range of disciplines gives each student a personalized program to meet their individual needs."
Darnell M Lee began the SOSC MA Program in Fall 2017. He is currently employed at CSU, Chico as Collections Supervisor. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Darnell stated,
"The program has allowed for me to grow as a person academically and professionally. The support I receive from the program has been very supportive of dreams and helping me become the best student I can be."
Cindy McKay began the SOSC MA Program in Spring 2018. She is currently employed at CSU, Chico as Coordinator of International Student & Scholar Services. When asked about the Social Science MA Program, Cindy stated,
"Although still new in the program, I am already beginning to deepen my understanding of service and communication. I'm excited to build upon current professional skills and experience!"
