Aishwarya Gowda

Cultural Program Coordinator

This is Aishu(Aishwarya Gowda) a sophomore undergraduate student majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Math, Management Information System and Computer Engineering. She is an international student from India who can speak four languages. 

She began volunteering at the International Office as a Global Ally, assisting international students with their transition to Chico. In addition, as an officer of the Indian Student Association, she served as a peer mentor to Indian students. After helping the community, she was even more inspired to help others and to join a lot of clubs and organizations. 

She is the founder and president of the Bollywood Dance Club, and she came to CCLC for the first time to speak about her organization. She grew to enjoy being in the CCLC environment and decided to join the CCLC family by interning in Fall 2022 semester.  During her internship at CCLC, her multicultural understanding and desire to learn about every culture grew. She began to generate various ideas, which she used to implement with the iFest committee, the international prom committee, and the Asian Pacific Islander Committee!

She has also worked as an outreach specialist for the Global Student Society, which hosts and promotes international and domestic students' global engagement and cross-cultural exchange. She believes strongly in equity and respect, and her goal is to educate people about diversity and inclusivity, as well as to help them understand that our differences are what make us unique. She believes that education can help to reduce prejudice and increase curiosity. Her mission is to raise inclusivity awareness, promote cultural exchange, and expand diverse festivals and multicultural events.
