Electrical and Computer Engineering

Student Research Presentation

Dr. Salehi's students research work has been accepted for presentation at the 2023 IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference(opens in new window). For four consecutive years, the EECE student-centered research has been presented at the IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference, held from October 6-8, 2023, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this work, two of Dr. Salehi's students, Matthew Dinh and Hector Ramirez (B.S. candidates in Electrical/Electronic Engineering), have made significant contributions to the development of AI/deep learning models. These models, implemented in both Python and MATLAB, utilize augmented Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images to facilitate the early detection of dental caries. It's worth noting that this research project is a collaborative interdisciplinary effort with SUNY Stony Brook University.
