Collaborating on Campus

GLAMR is a partnership of Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums, and Reserves at CSU, Chico that collaborate on academic and public programming and outreach, internal capacity building and fundraising efforts. GLAMR participates in campus and community events to help elevate the awareness of our collections and educational offerings throughout the region. Collectively, we serve tens of thousands of people annually, including students, faculty, K-12 participants and the general public. Individually, each GLAMR organization is integral to CSU, Chico's educational and community engagement mission. 

Researchers explore one of the biggest paleontological finds in the region

Chico State Miocene Fossil Finds(opens in new window)

In 2020, fossils from the Miocene period dating back 8 to 15 million years were discovered in the foothills near Chico, CA. The excavation of the site is still ongoing and being led by paleontologist and professor, Russell Shapiro.
