Planting with Bumble Bees

Interested in bumble bees or learning how to create native plant gardens?

Join Bombus: Natural History of Bumble Bees exhibit co-creator John Whittlesey and Gateway Science Museum’s Garden Curator Laura Lampe as they co-present on the plants and methodologies used to fill Gateway Gardens.


This presentation is best suited for inquisitive young adults and older, but Gateway Gardens welcomes all ages to enjoy the early blooms.

Fire Safe Day

Learn from Butte County Fire Safe Council(opens in new window) about how you can make changes in your life to minimize the effects of natural disasters.

Fire-Safe Remodel House hands-on demonstrations help teach you how to make your house fire safe.

Snap a photo with Ready Raccoon as he appears throughout the day.

Special guests from Chico Fire Department will swing by 2-4pm with their fire truck!
