Since 2016, Chico State has secured over $25.9M in Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) grants.  Here are the current HSI grant-funded campus projects.

HSI projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education

  • Cultivating a Culture of Entrepreneurial Mindset and Undergraduate Research (CEMUR)
  • Developing Faculty Resources of Evidence-based Practices that Improve Learning and Equity in STEM (abstract)

HSI projects funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture

  • Project DA-FANH (in collaboration with CSU San Bernardino)
  • A Pipeline To Enhance The Competitiveness Of Underrepresented Scholars For Entry Into Agriculture, Scientific And Professional Careers (sub-award via NMSU)

Visit the Higher Ed Emergency Relief Funds page for information on Chico State's three allocations from the U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) to Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI).  Chico State received over $6.7M in additional HEERF monies because of our institutional HSI status.
