Our Commitment

At Chico State, we are committed to ensuring Latinx students—and all students—can thrive academically, personally, and professionally. This work is grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement, and shared responsibility across our campus community. Together, we expand opportunity, remove barriers to student success, and foster an educationally affirming, culturally responsive, and welcoming campus environment.

• Number of enrolled Hispanic/Latinx students:  5,400+
• Proportion of the Chico State student body: 38.8%

As our student population has evolved, we continue to strengthen our institution to ensure Latino students have equitable opportunities to learn, belong, and succeed.

 
National Partnerships

Chico State is a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), the nation's leading association championing Hispanic success in higher education. Through HACU, we engage with a network of colleges and universities committed to expanding educational opportunity and advancing student success throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain.
 
 
 

Chico State is a member of the Excelencia in Action Network (E-Action), a national community of higher education leaders committed to intentionally serving Latinx students while strengthening student success for all. Through our partnership with Excelencia in Education, we collaborate with institutions across the country to share promising practices, build institutional capacity, and advance continuous improvement.
