STEP (Student Transfer Enrichment Program) gives transfer students a head start by connecting you with campus resources, working with academic/financial coaches, and meeting new friends.
STEP begins the summer before school starts with one-on-one coaching sessions offered via phone, text message, video chat, and in-person whenever possible. A special STEP orientation takes place on campus the week before school starts each semester, and continues with a one-hour weekly seminar with other STEP Scholars during your first semester at Chico State. STEP Scholars will build a unique transfer student community.
The following services are included in the STEP package:
- One-on-one advising sessions with academic and financial coaches over the summer and throughout the academic year
- Advising session at the CSU, Chico Summer Orientation, as well as a discount on the registration fee
- One-day TRIO SSS transfer student orientation the week before school starts (offered each fall and spring)
- Weekly seminar with other TRIO SSS transfer students during your first semester at Chico State
- Cultural enrichment activities
