Chico State's Virtual Commencement Ceremonies remain available for viewing online for one year.

 As President Hutchinson announced on April 14, in response to the continued uncertainty of COVID-19, Chico State's Commencement ceremonies were held virtually on Friday, May 15.

The virtual ceremony will not replace a live event for the Class of 2020. There will be a ceremony specifically for 2020 graduates next May. We view the virtual commencement as the first step in recognition of the Class of 2020, which has endured the loss of multiple experiences in their final semester.

The campus community is excited to celebrate the culmination of your academic careers. The virtual ceremony will include messages from President Gayle Hutchinson, Provost Debra Larson, student leaders, and others. To highlight every participant, a professional reader will say graduates’ names as a slide is shared with their submitted photo and personal statement. Each slide can be downloaded and shared on social media.

The ceremony websites will remain up for one year. Graduates, their families and friends, and the Chico State community can access the celebration whenever it’s convenient.

Regarding regalia returns, individual item purchases, etc.:

Full refunds: If you have already rented your regalia online, you can request a refund by calling Herff Jones customer support at 1-800-837-4235 or visiting its customer service website [LINK].
Partial refunds: If you have already rented your regalia online, you can receive a partial refund and choose to only have specific items from your order shipped to your home such as a tassel and diploma frame, but not the cap, gown, and stole. You should have received an email from Herff Jones about this option. If not, please contact them at 1-800-837-4235 or on its customer service website [LINK].
Shipping to your home: If you've already ordered regalia, you can have it shipped to your home at no additional fee. You can keep the gown until 30 days after the rescheduled ceremony dates. New regalia orders: If you did not order your regalia, but would like to, you can do so through the regalia ordering site now. You can keep the gown until 30 days after the rescheduled ceremony dates. The order will be shipped to your home. https://collegegrad.herffjones.com/capgown
